Your grading system
Check your certificate for the exact maximum and passing grades; the passing grade is what moves the result most. Works for any "higher is better" scale.
Your German grade
2,1
gut, Good (1,0 is best · 4,0 is the lowest pass)
Many Master's programmes ask for 2,5 or better; competitive ones for 1,5–2,0. See admission requirements
Formula: 1 + 3 × (Nmax − Nd) / (Nmax − Nmin), clamped to 1,0–4,0. Individual universities may round differently or use their own tables; treat this as the standard orientation, and check the programme's own conversion if listed.
Good grades open the door. German keeps it open.
